June 29th, 2000: Diablo 2 was first released.

Seven fucking years ago. Was anyone else playing from day 1? I limped through Normal Softcore with a Sorc that put points in everything, then went directly to Hardcore. I played Sorcs that never lived beyond NM act 1 for a month, then for some unknown reason, I made a Jabazon. The rest is history.

Yea, I played from day one. Never played d1, but a friend from school got me so pumped about it I had to play. Got to thirty with a thorns paladin then right to hardcore. I had a shitty comp and dial up for the first year, so I could never make it past 36, even when I made a necro with all sorts of creatures to protect me. I'd have 20 second lag spurts and that'd be it. I'm not sure why I kept playing given how frustrating it was. I got cable right before xpack and d2 became worlds easier. I had a 70 sorc that was somewhere in the middle of the ladder, then the 99 when xpack came out.

It seems like longer than seven years ago actually. It really was a lot of fun.

Started that August. Got a softcore barb to 83 and had 20 points in Bash. My clan (like 3 of our 30 members) decided to go kill people on HC. We'd get to lvl 12 chargeadins then attack people 3v1. For some reason we decided to keep leveling and could never make it past 50, but I was on 28.8. Been pking ever since. Well I stopped playing now..

Then I moved to HC, did a necro that died to msle radament in hell lvl 5x, remade him, ended up being Of_Worlds. sold the accnt
owned ladder for close to the entire year.
when xpack came out i NEVER did a lvl 99 just because its so pointless.

I pk'ed so many noobs on xpention it's ridiculous. I duno how many ear mule accnts I'd have if I kept all, at one point I had a mule with all my favorite ear names. One was Emilio_ESTEVEZZ

I invented hammerdins. Haha, probably not technically but I remember when no one knew how they worked and everyone made charge and zeal palis. Everytime I cleared a mob of shit in a party, people would be like "how you kill all mob so fast?"

SS-Sedecra was the first Hammerdin I ever saw, and before him all the top Paladins were conversion/thorns (Mythic Blade, vthree, MacCail).

i had the internet connection ladder to bridge my way into d2 7 yrs ago. the first - while i was on dial up with 2 lines to my house and if our other line got called while i was playing i'd get disc'd and die pretty much every time, highest was lvl 38~ necro. about the time of the ladder slaying i got cable for christmas and then had chars of every class in low 80s, and after i moved to school and got on T1 i got a 99 x-pack and then went back to classic and had YxEs-MF on the front page for a while.

I started playing D2 within a couple weeks of it coming out, I was a D1 junkie before that... the revalation of being able to run in D2 was all the motivaion I needed to play.

Anyhoo, on D2 I played SP for awhile, after I beat Diablo on my first char, I went straight to HC, got a Zerker/Frenzy Barb, a Javazon, and a Orb Sorc through hell, stopped playing until I got the internet, then I played HC as a Hydra Sorc, nailing people in Cows, was awesome, can't remember the patch though... Never rushed the ladder or got 99.. kinda boring story I guess.

i remember having the reputation to die more then the whole ladder itself, everytime i was making ww baba at 30 or so someone was hostiling me and i would duel even if he was 70 just for the thrill and would of course died ez gg no re, also i did lotta newbie pk attempt so many time. but it was great fun still. i did some nice kill a few time but gave more ear then earned but yo i was prolly the youngest player back then. I had so much diffuclty hitting 60. I remember stealing Juhnsang, anyone remember? acc *FREAKIE, ghetto pker battle hammer baba lvl 64, I pwned his pass making him bluff iwas his sharingacount-friend. gg d2

dude i was level 18 on the d2 beta haha, if anyone knew, the second PK- clan leader was previously US West ladder ranked #2, Swiftblade was #1 at lvl24. Try getting to level 24 with blood raven being the farthest you can get in the demo. Go figure i remember this shit.

if i can remember correctly aswell, was not the very first level 99 on Hardcore a pair of germans who took turns playing night and day, essentially keeping their character up 24\7 leveling?
