So far, so good. Should have stocked up on masks a couple months ago when I saw people clearing the shelves. (Would make me feel better when grocery shopping...) Hope everyone is well...

masks don't make up for much since the virus can go through the mask, it's pretty small.
It's more for someone infected because when they cough it can block quite a bit, but not everything.
The main idea is to not touch your face when you go out and wash your hands as much as possible, and especially first thing when you get inside your home.
We are a little freaky here, when we get in, strip naked, wash and shower, just to be sure we don't bring this shit inside.

wife is a doctor and for the past two weeks taking care of the inpatients. has had a few "false negative" covid people to treat. that's worrisome. did you know that the current tests return "negative" to about 25% of people who are actually positive. after the results they then tell everyone "no need for protective gear". it's actually a pretty big shitshow. i bought her some n95's in january when china firewalled off a new york size city after 15 people died and 300 people were infected- like wtf china doesn't care about 15 people. i immediately thought either way more people are infected/dead or this is a military virus that escaped and they know it. regardless- hospitals around the US are threatening to fire staff who wear their own protective gear because though they don't have the supplies to provide the gear themselves and it makes others fearful. more important to the bosses (who are all working from home) that everyone is equally at risk than the preppers get to use what they bought.
i was happy when we started "socially distancing" so that the hospitals wouldn't be completely overwhelmed- but now what? are we going to stay in lockdown for literally years because we need 60-80% of people to pass this virus before we get "herd immunity" and right now new york city is around 1% and burying bodies in the park in mass graves. or do we say f it and go back to our normal lives? this shit is so fucked. we are well on the way to a worldwide depression and don't listen to the tv- stocks are going to drop at least 60% from current prices. the only way they don't drop is if we print money out our ass and then you would rather own gold / bitcoin anyways. if you have the means, i'd suggest buying a bit of bitcoin because if they print like i think they will fiat will fail and even a few hundred dollars into btc right now could make a huge difference. (i am not a financial advisor)
i'm tangentially on the front lines through my wife if any of you fuckers have any questions.
